I have to share a funny testimonial with you:
My gawd your workouts are so good for me. Better then beer. Puts the beach and margaritas to shame. Replaces sex! Ok just kidding but they did make me able to juke the night away at Tiesto.
Yours 20 years younger,
A boot camper
Any guesses on who sent this one in??
I’ve got a prize for the best testimonial, maybe one on the serious side with a name attached so I can award you your loot. Post by the end of the week and I’ll let you know who wins. Thanks for commenting everyone, I don’t fee so alone in the world of blogging!
Shawna, your airport workout left me speechless….seriously. YOU looked so cute doing it but I could never picture me on the ground doing pushups in front of people. So…maybe there needs to be a little gym space available in airports? You might start a whole new trend…or maybe there already is a space to workout….Just a short comment to let you know I read your blog and watched your video! Thanks for sharing.
I love Boot Camp…although lately I have been having a real problem getting up so early for my 5:30 workout!…age is the problem there re; sleep disruption. However, I am very proud to say that I am stronger than my almost 30 year old daughter (beat her in arm wrestling) and am able to lift my grandchildren very easily (60 lbs plus), and I am almost twice her age! My immune system is better; I have gained 3% bone mass (according to my bone density test) within a year, and I have no more “aches and pains” of people my age who are sedentary. Plus, I can keep up with my very active two labs! It is a must for anyone over 50! Just DO IT! and you’ll feel 1000% better.
Thanks for posting Susan. I wouldn’t expect anyone to do this workout in a public place necessarily, but you certainly could do it in a hotel room or your living room if you couldn’t get out.
Shawna. I can’t believe you actually did that in the airport. Actually, knowing you, I can.
I, on the other hand, find running from one end of the Frankfurt Airport to the other to change planes is plenty of workout for me. Good to see you are still trying to keep everyone in shape.
I have been working on my knee and it seems to be improving recently. Gotten totally out of shape in the interim.
Keep up the good work.
So good to hear from you Joan! Of course I’m still nagging everyone to get off the couch, I hope your knee improves so that you can get back to your amazing condition. Maybe you could start by doing some of these home workouts on your own. Take care and love to see you again in camp sometime.
Shawna, Thanks for posting these quick workouts. Nice to have ideas when I’m not attending bootcamp. My guess is most people that saw you at the airport were probably wondering how they could get in such good shape. You should have passed out your card!
Boot Camp is more then a workout!
Its a family of hard working individuals who give support to each other. I have found my space in this giving, loving family about a year ago. I do not see Shawna as a “Drill Sargent” but rather a leader. A leader, with her caring guidance has given me results both physically and emotionally. With the encouragement of Shawna and the rest of the group I have gained so much more then work out. Confidence and a higher level of self esteem. I leave each work out with a smile on my face. Knowing i have a place to go where i feel i belong and valued member of a supportive group.
Thank You so much Shawna and her loving Boot camp family
Amanda
Shawna,
You ROCK! Did people make comments after seeing your airport workout? It made me chuckle because I’ve recently worked out on the spur of the moment at my sister’s house wearing regular clothes – long-sleeved blouse and dress pants on the treadmill or elyptical. I don’t look as good as you, however, in your fashionista belt!!
I hope all is well with you and am happy to receive your updates.
Barb
This is my 3rd boot camp and I cannot think of a better group of people to be busting my butt with at 6:30AM! Shawna’s boot camps are not only great for the body but also for the soul. Shawna inspires her boot campers through professional and caring guidance always considering each participants’ physical limitations. I have never worked out with or for anyone who cared so much about her students. She is an inspiration to us all and I would recommend her boot camps to anyone searching for a fitness group with a real sense of family.
So funny Barb-fitness anytime, anywhere! Good for you, a blouse can be thrown in the wash if you get it sweaty. You get it.
