Sometimes things just get to me. This is one of those things. I really feel like my calling is to help you with your fitness and fat loss questions and needs. For the most part, I’ve been getting positive feedback on my efforts. Read the comment below and I need your honest opinion. Do you feel that the info I offer on the blog and in my program are helping you? Am I bombarding you with too much fluff or is there something there for you to work with? What would you say to this person? (If the entire image isn’t visible, just click on it.)
If you’ve never commented on my blog before, now’s the time. All you do is enter a comment. (Your email will NOT be displayed, only your name, which, by the way, you can put as ‘anonymous’ if you wish.) It may not display right away, so be patient, I have to moderate comments and I’ll put them all up: the good, bad and the ugly.
I really need to know how YOU feel about this. Thank you for your support and constructive criticism. My goal is to help you the best way I can and if I’m not doing that, I need to know that too.
Hi Shawna,
I just signed up for your emails and blogs. I have a gym at my work that i have access to but the hours don’t always work for me, so I really enjoy the fact that I can go into your emails and get a quick and effective workout at home. Thank you for all the advice and tips on getting and staying motivated.

Glad to hear that I can help you Kelly. Keep us posted on your progress!
Hi Shawna,
You give very useful and thoughtful advice in your emails. Fitness is not a quick fix, it’s hard work and blaming you for her not getting anything out your emails is misguided. If she didn’t want the emails unsubscribing is the easy way out. Thank you for all you do!
Thanks for your comment Toby, so true.
Maybe she was having a bad day. That’s a kinder statement than she deserves.
I think she needs help but not necessarily with her abs and I’m glad she won’t reap the benifit of your expertise. Thanks for all your info. C.
Shawna,
I always look forward to your emails! You always seem to know when I need a quick fix. I hurt my shoulder and you just happen to post a great stretch for shoulder injuries! Thanks for all you do! Don’t stop sending emails. That person can just unsubscribe!
Thanks Karen, Glad the shoulder stretch helped too!
Shawna,
I thank you for your diligence and follow ups with your useful e-mails . You keep me motivated to fight the odds and my genetic pre -disposition. As I mentioned in another e-mail 3 people in my immediate family have died of immune deficiencies/ diseases such as Cancer and multiple Sclerosis and your e-mails are a reminder that the fight is never over for me to beat the odds. with you in my journey of having optimum health and well being, I know I am not alone.
I stand for you to stay committed to your life purpose, to help others by changing their lives.
Hanna
Thank you Hanna! Keep fighting the good fight and let me know how I can help!
Hi Shawna!
I enjoy getting your emails, especially the ones that show some of your exercises!
So nice of you to share. Your emails are always knowledgeable and informative.
Thank you!!
I find your emails useful. We all have the choice to subscribe/unsubscribe, read/not read, follow/not follow, work-out/not. Honestly some days I don’t have time (or motivation?) to read your emails (nothing personal!) –but most days I do. I appreciate getting useful tips and videos, even though I’m not able right now to enroll in your program for various reasons. The fact that you give this to us for free is wonderful! I incorporate the things you give me into the other things I presently do. Furthermore I disagree with the email complaint, as there is plenty of info about your program in your emails as well as on your website. Does she want all your program info with no commitment? That’s not fair to the people who pay for your program. Personally I am thrilled to be able to have as much as you are sharing with me without my commitment or payment for it. Thank so much for that Shawna. Too often we take time to write only with criticism, and not often enough with appreciation. I’ve been guilty of the latter. ~kim~ in NS
Glad I can help Cheryl!
Kim: Thanks for your kind words and support, much appreciated.
Shawna,I agree with many of the other posters. All bloggers get these type of comments from time to time.Don’t let one bad post get you down when you have helped so many others(like me!!) who appreciate you.
The tone of the email sounds like she was trying to deal with a lot of stuff at once. Maybe something has gone on in her life and she is having troubles coping. That is the problem with an email – it is easy to decide what the tone is but you have no body language or other cues to use. Concentrate on providing the stuff and don’t worry – not everyone will like it. So what!
I appreciate the emails because it keeps me focused.
Hey Shawna.
Your website & emails are one of the BEST is have come across! Your advice makes so much sense and you cut out the crap and get to the point. I am a mum of 4, and after 4 pregnancies and 3 c-sections, your advice and very helpful training tips are fantastic. You send me inspiration to don’t give up. I suggest the other lady should unsubcribe if she is not finding you helpful. KEEP UP THE EMAILS! Don’t let the other lady ruin it for the rest of us!
Thanks Lisa! I’m glad you’re finding value in my emails and blog!
Well…something makes me think that the person who wrote this expected somehow that reading your e-mails would make her slim and toned…Wow, wouldn’t that be super nice??? Keep doing what you do Shawna, the rest of us love you!
So funny…you don’t get lean by reading do you? Good point Anca.

Hi Shawna,
Im new to your website and i love it. Real people getting real results. I think you look amazing and admire what you are doing.
Im not new to exercise i have done it all my life. Im 44 years old and im happy to have found your website. In fact i look at it everyday. It’s real.
People are always trying to bring you down or put their negativity on to you. That’s one persons opinion. One very sad person by the sounds of it.
Keep up the amazing job that you do. Your awesome. And thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge with us. Im one very grateful person.
Kind Regards
Lisa :):):):):)
From Carolyn:
After reading about you on Femme d’un certain age, I joined your blog this week and listened to your broadcast on exercise. It was immediately helpful. In my work years I worked out at my employer’s gym every morning before work. I retired a year ago and am now having trouble getting regular exercise ever since. Your broadcast was very helpful. As I result of it I now leave out my exercise clothes at night (like I used to leave out my work outfit) and change into them first thing as a visual cue. Then I have a scheduled time (7:30 -8:30) rather than trying to fit it into my day. It works!! Bravo for you. I was a hospital librarian for 30 years, immersed in medical education, and must say that I was impressed with your knowledge, positive attitude and approach.
I worked in public service and encountered similar situations when I was in public libraries and my guess is that something like this is what’s happening in that email:
Some people just need to dump on someone else and they will pick on a nice, helpful person like you (or a public library employee). They can’t do it to someone they know without consequences so they pick someone nice like you because
1. You care and you might take it to heart.
2. You won’t tell them to where to go.
3. It’s anonymous. (cowardly bullies love that)
The problem of offering free services to the general public is that you can be a target for unhealthy people. The best I can say about that email is that the writer was angry at herself and decided to dump that displaced anger on you. It’s sad.
So please keep up your excellent work – I hope that one unhealthy, vituperative respondent doesn’t keep the rest of us from benefitting from your super blog.
Gratefully,
Carolyn

Hi Shawna,
I am not the kind of person that responds to blogs.
but i just wanted to let you know that i hope that you dont take this seriously.
I get emails that either dont apply to my situation or i have the feeling i see them twice.
but then, i just delete them.
I really dont see the point of this person.
iin some emails there is something in there for me and i save that info.
and the rest will be trashed.
Keep up the good work
Karin
Thank you for all you do. I appreciate the information you provide.
I have found the emails to be just what I need when they arrive.
I will be 54 this year and your fitness program meets my specific needs.
Be encouraged and know your desire to help women is being fulfilled.
You’ve made my day! Thanks so much!
The fact of life is that we will never please everyone. There will always be those we upset for whatever reason, perhaps it’s something we did but often it is may be something in their own life. Either way you have to look at the big picture and acknowledge the positive responses far outweigh the negative. You are passionate about what you do with sincerest intentions to make our lives better. She requested your emails, and could have just as simply asked to be removed without all the hostility. You can’t dwell on one mean spirited comment(although this is hard to do) just think of it as an opportunity to take the high road to model the courtesy and professionalism that should have been offered to you.
Thanks for your support. I agree that sometimes people lash out for their own reasons, like kicking the dog. Maybe I was just ‘the dog’ that day. 😉
I love your newsletters!!!!!
The first thing that always comes to my mind is how much you really care about your clients health and people in general.
Keep them coming!!!!!
Cheers,
Dorothy
I truly enjoy getting the emails, they have given me inspiration to keep at it even when I fall down. You come across as supportive and motivating. I NEED your emails!
Thanks Rhonda.
I am a very unfit 46year old who has decided to try and get fit and for this reason signed up to your emails. I enjoy the content and they remind me of the promise I made to myself to look and feel better about myself before Christmas. If this person doesn’t want to receive the emails just unsubscribe and stop bitching.
Carry on the good work.
Thanks for your insight and help I just recently started your program. I am enjoying the emails and tips from you. You are an inspiration
This email sounds like the writer was expecting you to email her a magic wand to get her that 6 pack she is after. You are better off without her let her be rude and miserable to someone else. Tell her to go to Disneyland perhaps they can help her.
I enjoy reading you emails and bogs. I find that it is a daily reminder that I need to make fitness a priority. Occasionally when things are crazy at work I dont get to read all of them, but I can just delete them knowing that you will email something else tomorrow. Daily reminders help us focus and help us learn something new.
I’m a new member and enjoy the emails.
Try not to take it personally, who knows what kind of a day that woman was having.
Don’t get discouraged!
never mind those people.. keep n doing your stuff..
Having emails come to me from Shawna has really helped me stay focused on my health and well being. The information Shawna sends is practical, up to date and relevant to my current weight loss and fitness challenges. I appreciate the connection to her, through emails and this blog, because it gives me support and supporting each other is what makes this journey possible.
Please, recognize that when you got such a foul comment it just isn’t true. I read your web page and got everything I needed and more. After reading your web page once I’ve bought your book, joined your boot camp and requested your personal training. She clearly was looking for an excuse not to get started on her goals. I get the feeling this person wanted something for nothing and that means she’s not ready for transforming her body or her life. My advice is to tell her you’ll be there for her when she’s ready.
Thank you for the emails. Keep them coming!!!!
Thank you for your kind words and support Jenny!
Thank you Veronica!
I love getting emails from you Shawna..keeps me motivated..and up on the latest ..they are essential…!!!
Thanks Andrea!
Hi Shawna,
I love getting workout emails from you. The only thing that I find a little off-putting is all the sales emails I get from you, Tyler Bramlett, Craig Ballantyne, Kate, Rick the back guy, etc. (the list is much longer) plugging each other’s products.
Don’t get me wrong! I have purchased from all of you at one time or another and have taken something valuable away from each. But when a new product is offered by one I get besieged by all which results in a ton of emails which are repeated over several days.
I love what you and the others do for people. I feel better about myself now than I have in years. I would say don’t stop the advice and workout emails, but if possible slow down on the sales stuff.
Heather, I understand how you feel, but if you see that we’re all supporting a fitness pro, it’s because we believe in their program. Just pick and choose who you want to get emails from, or delete. We’re all trying to help people like you get healthy and support the best programs out there. There’s lots of things I don’t support so I just want to make it clear what’s worthwhile and what’s not.
Hi Shawna,
Just want to add to all the above comments…..
I love your emails, your blog, your posts and videos. I look forward to getting them and reading them. You give me motivation as we are the same age. I have your picture on my visionary board to help keep me on track. What a complainer that lady is…like mentioned many times…why didn’t she just unsubscribe…..she didn’t need to go on about her feelings. She mentioned about her untoned abs….well I hope her and her untoned abs are happy together cause she doesn’t realize the great and positive information you freely give…Please keep them coming and know that there are many of us that do enjoy them and find them more than useful. A big thanks to you for not only all the information but for all of your time that it takes to get it together to share with us.
Thanks for your support Cheryl!
