Are you tempted by products that claim to help you:
“lose 10lbs in one week”
“6 days to 6 pack abs”
“30lbs in 30 days with our shake program” etc etc
“lose 10lbs in one week”
“6 days to 6 pack abs”
“30lbs in 30 days with our shake program” etc etc
Are you kidding me?
I just want to say that there are many fitness trainers out there that will even flog these sorts of things and I want to warn you that the only thing that will lighten up is your wallet.
I will not promote any product that I don’t use myself or that I feel the only benefit is to increase my bottom line.
Don’t try to shortcut this journey. There is NO MAGIC BULLET. If there were, then everyone would ready to step onto the cover of Shape magazine.
The magic bullet is consistent effort in your training and at your training table.
And the bonus benefit is that you’re going to feel great and be healthier in the process.
And there are some training secrets to success.
I’ll tell you that my clients have been impressed with the Female Fat Loss Over 40 program. It’s not a gimmick. It’ll provide you with the information you need to fit into your jeans better and have energy to spare.
And by the way, I promise I’ll share a tip I use to help me meet my fitness and fat loss goals next post.
Do you have any fitness ‘magic bullets’ to share??
Shawna,
Finally, someone with the conviction and credentials to stand up to the false advertising that others use to promote their bogus claims. Before I discovered your boot camps, I too subscribed to quick fixes, obviously you know it didn’t work for me otherwise I wouldn’t have had to do your camps. I’m much wiser and more committed in my approach and realize that the older I get the more consistent I have to be with my exercise, which means I don’t get to take off for weeks at a time and think I’m going to get results.
By the way, I finished the Edmonton half marathon in August with an official time of three hours and 12 minutes, not bad, I think, for someone who’s not a runner and really don’t like walking for more than an hour. This was a birthday gift to myself for reaching my 55th birthday in excellent health and with no medical issues.
Thanks for the motivational tips, I always find them inspirational and I know you’re truly committed to keeping all your ‘campers’ in good health and in good physical shape.
Keep sending me my reminders, it guilts me into moving even when I really don’t want to, especially now that the weather has deteriorated. Early (5:30AM) Burst training (HIIT to you), with my chiropractor once a week isn’t enough, but I’m reminded of your commitment to your ladies and I know if you can get there for your training sessions, the least I can do is commit to my own training.
Thanks again.
Hi Shawna,
You can also promote the benefits of pranayama in your training session.
Thanks,
Nandini
Sabena, You’re an inspiration. Good on you for your half marathon! And thanks for the support. I do love my ladies and want the best for you so I’ll always tell the truth!
