As many of you know, I took my daughter with me when I went to California to meet with my mentor. It was also her 16th birthday, so it was sort of a ‘mom-daughter weekend’. It seems there are plenty of ways to embarrass a teenager and I’m very skilled in this area. Here are a few highlights:
Ask a star for a photo…Hannah and Ian Ziering
Take a picture of her as she’s having a makeover at Macy’s…
Ask cute strangers to take her picture with her mother…
Sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her in a crowded restaurant…
Get lost in the rental car return lot (oh, and run over a pylon or two)…
Forget your cell phone in the hotel and make the shuttle driver fetch it before you catch your flight…
Threaten the dreaded ”airport workout”….
But even with all the embarrassment, we had a great time and this is what Hannah told me…

Sounds familiar–altho there were never any airport work-outs on my part!
This is soo cute. About sums up a trip Becca & I would take, minus the airport workout. At least not yet.

Happy Birthday Hannah!
Happy Sweet Sixteen Birthday Hannah! As a mom I feel it is my duty to push the edge and embarrass my daughter (not to mention this can be done effortlessly these days). I believe my mom did the same for me…it builds character and teaches life lessons…Right!
LOL Carla! We do have a right an obligation to build character in our teenagers, so a little embarrassment may be necessary to achieve this! Hope to see you soon, especially next week at our charity camp!
I am so glad I’m not the only one who does this!! I had Ethan Morrow (Edmonton Oiler captain)sign my forehead for my son while he was in the dressing room at a hockey tournament and Shavonne stood by totally mortified:) Happy Birthday Hannah.
Let’s hear it for mom’s every where who are building their kid’s character with embarrassing moments!
Very interesting topic, regards for putting up.
